Fermentation lid for Plastia jars 11.0cm, complete with flexible weight.
Suitable for jars with an inner neck diameter of 70mm or a standard screw lid with a size of 82mm.
Provides an airtight seal while allowing carbon dioxide to escape during the fermentation process. This creates optimal fermentation conditions, allowing you to make crispy pickles, aromatic kimchi, sauerkraut, or homemade, lightly sparkling beverages.
Made from food-grade plastic (PP – polypropylene) and contains approximately 15-20% coffee grounds.
The cap kit includes:
Fermentation cap: A plastic cap with an integrated one-way valve that automatically releases carbon dioxide produced during fermentation while preventing air from entering the jar.
Pressure insert (weight): A flexible insert designed to keep the products being fermented by the pestle below the surface of the brine, thus protecting them from mold formation. The insert is light and flexible and is suitable not for pressing but for fixing the vegetables in the liquid.
The pressure insert is made of food-grade plastic and is designed to fit inside the jar, ensuring that the contents remain fully submerged, which is critical for successful fermentation.
