How NOW S knives differ from other Zwilling knife series

1. Forged vs. stamped blade

• Four Star / All*Star: These knives are forged (SIGMAFORGE) from a single piece of steel. They are heavier, have a thicker bolster between the blade and the handle, which protects fingers and provides perfect balance.
• Now S: These are laser-cut from sheet steel. They are thinner and significantly lighter. This is not a bad thing – many people like that their hand doesn't get tired as quickly, but they don't have the same "substantial" feel as forged knives.

2. Design and colors

• Now S was created as a "style" series. While classic knives are usually only black with metal, the Now S series has matte handles.

3. Handle and hygiene

• Now S knife handles are made from a special, slightly rough plastic (polypropylene) that does not slip, even if the hand is wet or greasy. It has a very simple, rectangular shape that fits well in modern kitchens.
